  • 2 Tablespoon Butter,softened
  • 2 Tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon Honey
  • 1 Tablespoon Light Molasses
  • 1 Cup Quick-cooking Rolled Oats
  • 2 Tablespoon Whole Wheat Flour
  • 2/3 Cup snipped Mixed Dried Fruits
  • 1/2 Cup Boiling Water
  • 1 Tablespoon Butter
  • 1 Slightly beaten Egg
  • 1/4 Cup packed Brown Sugar
  • 1/4 Cup Whole Wheat flour
  • 2 Tablespoon Wheat Germ
  • 2 Tablespoon Wheat Bran
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 Cup chopped Walnuts

Directions
  1. In a bowl blend together the 2 Tablespoos of butter,the 2Tablespoons sugar,honey and molasses.
  2. Stir in oats and the 2 Tablespoon whole wheat flour
  3. Press into the bottom of a greased 8x8x2" pan
  4. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 5 minutes
  5. Meanwhile,combine fruit,boiling water,and the 1 Tablespoon butter,
  6. Let stand 5 minutes
  7. Stir in egg,1/4cup brown sugar,1/4 cup wheat flour,wheat germ,wheat bran,cinnamon,salt,cloves.
  8. Stir in Walnuts
  9. Spread over prebaked crust.
  10. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 25 to 30 minutes more
  11. Cool on rack
  12. Cut into 2x1 1/2 " bars
