How to make it

  • Wash potatoes and place in boiling water for 40-60 minutes, until soft
  • Add oil to a separate pan
  • While potatoes are boiling, brown the ground turkey in a non stick pan
  • Add parsley, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and mix well with the ground turkey
  • Add soy sauce, worcestire sauce and chicken broth
  • Add corn and peas
  • Let the meat mixture simmer until the sauce has been absorbed into the meat and is no longer "soupy"
  • When the potatoes are ready for mashing, remove them from the water, remove skins and mash
  • Slowly add milk to the potatoes, ensuring that the milk is being absorbed and not making the potatoes too runny. You may need to add more or less milk depending on how you like your mashed potatoes
  • Put the meat mixture into a glass oven dish.
  • Cover the meat mixture with the mashed potatoes. You now have a two layered dish, a bottom layer of meat and a top layer of potatoes.
  • Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over top of the potatoes
  • Sprinkle the paprika over the cheese
  • Bake uncovered at 425 degrees F for 30-40 minutes or until edges are golden-brown
  • Let cool for 15-20 minutes

    Yum, Sheree, this sounds good!
I love Sheppards Pie; but i need to find an equally flavourful substitution for the dairy in this one....haven't found it yet.

You should post some photos of your cakes!
