Kickass Spaghetti Bolognese

- 4 tbsp olive oil shopping list
- 1 onion chopped shopping list
- 2 cloves garlic shopping list
- 4 bacon rashers chopped shopping list
- 1 carrot diced shopping list
- 1 celery stick diced shopping list
- 1 ld lean mined beef shopping list
- 200 ml red wine shopping list
- 150 ml milk shopping list
- ground nutmeg shopping list
- 400g can chopped tomatoes shopping list
- 1 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1 tsp chopped herbs (oregano or which ever) shopping list
- salt and pepper shopping list
- 1 lb / 500g spaghetti strings shopping list
- 50g /2oz parmesan cheese grated to serve shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oil in a big sauce pan or casserole dish.
- Saute onion garlic celery carrots and bacon until soft (few mins)
- Add beef and cook until browned.
- Add red wine -bring to boil & then reduce heat to medium. Simmer until most wine has evapourated.
- Season with a little salt and pepper.
- Add milk and 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg (more or less depending on ur love of nutmeg!)
- Cook until milk has been absorbed.
- Add tomatoes sugar and herbs.
- Reduce heat and simmer gently for ~ 30 - 40 mins.
- Serve with cooked spaghetti and cover with the cheese.
