How to make it

  • Cut bacon into small pieces and fry till crisp~reserve drippings.
  • Combine sugar salt and cornstarch; add egg, water and vinegar; whisk well.
  • Pour mixture into hot bacon drippings. Cook till consistency of medium gravy.
  • Use for German Potato Salad dressing or Wilted Spinach Salad.

    This is pretty much the exact recipe I use and it is delicious. You can add a little more sugar or vinegar at the end to suit your tastes.
