A Load of Bran Muffins

- 2 cups boiling water shopping list
- 1 cup shortening shopping list
- 2 cups Nabisco 100% bran (or) 40% will be fine shopping list
- 4 cups Kellogg's Bran Buds shopping list
- 2 and 1/2 cups sugar shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1 quart buttermilk shopping list
- 5 cups all-purpose flour (or)can use part wheat flour shopping list
- 4 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
How to make it
- Mix the water and shortneing and let stand
- Add remaining ingredients,and stir all together
- May add raisins,nuts,currants (I like chopped dried apricots or craisins)
- Bake in muffin pan lined with paper baking cups
- 400 degree for 20 minutes
- Note: Will keep 6 weeks in the refrigerator in a covered container
- Makes about 4 to 6 dozen muffins
