How to make it

  • In Double Boiler
  • Bring the water,salt,pepper,seasonings,onion and ham or sausage to a boil
  • Add cornmeal,stirring until smooth
  • Cook over hot water in the double boiler for 30 minutes,watch and stir
  • Remove from heat and turn into a buttered 8" Loaf Pan
  • Let it set until firm(I usually make it a day a head and Chill
  • Heat butter and a little oil in fry pan
  • Slice the scrapple and fry slices,browning lightly on both sides
  • Make: a gravy with heated condensed mushroom soup
  • Note: I serve it for Breakfast and Serve the Fried Scrapple with Hot Maple Syrup.
  • Enjoy
