Indian Cornmeal Scrapple

- 1& 1/2 Cups boiling water shopping list
- 1 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon white pepper shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon poultry seasonings shopping list
- 1 Cup onions, minced shopping list
- 1 Cup Cooked,chopped ham (or)sausage shopping list
- 2/3 Cup Yellow corn Meal shopping list
- 1 Can cream of mushroom soup shopping list
- butter shopping list
How to make it
- In Double Boiler
- Bring the water,salt,pepper,seasonings,onion and ham or sausage to a boil
- Add cornmeal,stirring until smooth
- Cook over hot water in the double boiler for 30 minutes,watch and stir
- Remove from heat and turn into a buttered 8" Loaf Pan
- Let it set until firm(I usually make it a day a head and Chill
- Heat butter and a little oil in fry pan
- Slice the scrapple and fry slices,browning lightly on both sides
- Make: a gravy with heated condensed mushroom soup
- Note: I serve it for Breakfast and Serve the Fried Scrapple with Hot Maple Syrup.
