How to make it

  • Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan.
  • Pour nuts evenly over the bottom of pan(if using).
  • Mix together cake ingredients. Beat for 3 minutes.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until inserted wooden toothpick comes out clean.
  • Glaze:
  • In a small saucepan,melt butter then add sugar and water.
  • Boil for 5 minutes,stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and add rum.
  • Remove cake from pan and pierce it all over using a toothpick or a fork.
  • Slowly pour the glaze over cake. Pour a little at a time to give the glaze a chance to soak in.
  • Cool cake completely and serve with whipped cream.
