Rum Cake

- Cake: shopping list
- 1 cup chopped nuts-optional shopping list
- 1 box yellow cake mix shopping list
- 1 box instant vanilla pudding shopping list
- 1/2 cup oil shopping list
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 1/2 cup rum shopping list
- Glaze: shopping list
- 1 stick butter shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup water shopping list
- 1/2 cup rum shopping list
How to make it
- Grease and flour a 12-cup bundt pan.
- Pour nuts evenly over the bottom of pan(if using).
- Mix together cake ingredients. Beat for 3 minutes.
- Pour batter into prepared pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour or until inserted wooden toothpick comes out clean.
- Glaze:
- In a small saucepan,melt butter then add sugar and water.
- Boil for 5 minutes,stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add rum.
- Remove cake from pan and pierce it all over using a toothpick or a fork.
- Slowly pour the glaze over cake. Pour a little at a time to give the glaze a chance to soak in.
- Cool cake completely and serve with whipped cream.
