Braised Belgium Endive

- 6 whole heads of Belgian endive, trimmed and cored shopping list
- 1 tablespoon butter shopping list
- juice of 1/2 lemon, about 1 to 1 1/2 tablespoons shopping list
- 4 tablespoon chicken or beef broth shopping list
- 1/4 teaspoon salt shopping list
- fresh pepper to taste shopping list
- 2 teaspoons sugar shopping list
- PREPARATION: shopping list
- Note: To core the endive, slice about 1/8 to 1/4-inch of the end off and cut out the small core with a sharp paring knife. shopping list
How to make it
- In a saucepan over medium heat, saute endive in butter, turning several times.
- Add remaining ingredients.
- Cook on med low for about 15 mins.
