Angelhair with Asparagus

- 1 pound asparagus, ends snapped off, spears, cut into 1" diagonals shopping list
- 6 tablespoons butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup ham, finely diced shopping list
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced shopping list
- 1/2 pound angel hair nests shopping list
- 2 tablespoons olive oil shopping list
- 1 clove garlic shopping list
- 2 cups half and half (the new fat-free half and half works really well) shopping list
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated shopping list
How to make it
- Melt 2 T. butter in pan and saute the ham and mushrooms - set aside. Boil enough salted water to cook pasta and cook the asparagus in it for 4 minutes. Remove asparagus with slotted spoon and set aside. Add pasta to same water and cook until al dente. drain.
- In large saute pan, add 4 T. butter and the olive oil. Then add minced garlic and cook 1 minutes - do not brown or burn. Then add pasta and mix well with butter. Stir in cream and cheese. Cook until thickened. Add ham, mushroom and asparagus. Heat thoroughly and serve with extra parmesan for sprinkling.

Sounds good, however I think that I would use turkey ham or a vegetarian substitute called Wham by Loma Linda and Worthington foods:)

Love sound of this and desperate to use up my back
yard asparagus, nice crop this season. Thankstheiris in Garden City loved it
