This is a Hydrabad moglai dish. Its so creamy that it goes well for dipping a piece of naan and finger licking good!

I'd guess you could probably use yogurt here, no problem. That seems fairly consistent with indian cooking anyway (maybe moreso than sour cream, actually)

Yes,you can use yogurt to substitute for sour cream.The sauce will be a little lighter thats all.If you have the time,you can use hung yogurt.
