How to make it

  • Method:
  • Heat a med size pan and add couple of tablespoons of oil.
  • Add cumin and kasuri methi.
  • Add chopped onions and G&G paste. Stir fry for a few minutes.
  • Now add chicken pieces and white pepper and salt.
  • Sauté until chicken turns white and add cashew paste and sour cream.
  • Add little water if necessary.
  • Continue cooking until chicken is well cooked and oil floats on top. Serve hot with rice or naan………………ENJOY!!!
  • *Cashew Paste: soak 1/2 cup raw cashews, 2tblsps white poppy seeds, 2tblsps white sesame seeds in hot water for an hour and grind to a thick paste.
  • *Garlic and Ginger Paste: Grind equal portions of chopped fresh ginger and garlic to smooth paste with a pinch of turmeric.

    Yes,you can use yogurt to substitute for sour cream.The sauce will be a little lighter thats all.If you have the time,you can use hung yogurt.

    This does sound good. I'm sure any variations with the sour cream will be good, especially if you've never had the original recipe to compare it to. Will put this on my to-cook list!

    I'd guess you could probably use yogurt here, no problem. That seems fairly consistent with indian cooking anyway (maybe moreso than sour cream, actually)

    Hello Shoba, This looks wonderful and I will be trying it. I am wondering if instead of the sour cream if one can use curd in it instead. As right now I don't have the sour cream in the fridg.
