great tasting easy soup for leftover roast beef

Ingredients
  • 8 c. water
  • 1-2 tsp s&p
  • 1-2 bay leaves
  • 1 tsp basil
  • 1/4 c chopped onion
  • 1 sm (8 oz) can tomato sauce
  • 3-4 medium potatos chopped to desired size
  • 3 carrots chopped to desired size
  • 3-4 stalks celery chopped
  • 1/2 c. barley
  • left over roast beef or cubed stew meat

Directions
  1. Combine all and bring to boil. Turn to low and simmer for 3-4 hours
  2. Serve with corn bread or biscuits
