This is so fast, easy and good! Perfect for those nights when you have to be somewhere right after dinner.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups of uncooked macaroni, penne or spiral pasta
  • 2 lbs of ground beef
  • 1 16 oz can of crushed tomatoes
  • 2 8oz cans of mushrooms or
  • 1 lb of fresh mushrooms sliced
  • 1 onion chopped
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp of worchestershire sauce
  • salt and pepper to tast

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 f.
  2. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain.
  3. Fry ground beef and onions until beef is no longer pink, add in mushrooms. If using fresh mushrooms, add when ground beef is almost cooked through to allow ample cooking time. Drain grease. Drain juice from tomatoes. Combine the ground beef mixture with the tomatoes and pasta in a large casserole dish. If desired add 1 cup of grated mozzarella or cheddar cheese. Bake for 15-20 minutes.
  4. Serve with a tossed or Caesar salad.

Forgot to add, if you really like tomatoes, you can double the amount!


I tried this last night, all in all was good...but next time right before throwing it in the oven I will be adding more tomato juice, about 1/2 to 3/4 cup.

My mother added sage and that was good. I would undercook the pasta, too, if you are going to bake it.
