Ingredients
  • 1 Large Can Fruit Cocktail (Heavy Syrup)
  • 1/2 c light brown sugar
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 small can Mandarin oranges
  • 3 Tbs margarine
  • 1 c biscuit/baking mix(Jiffy/Bisquick)
  • 1/2 c cream

Directions
  1. Drain the syrup from the fruit cocktail and the oranges and mix with the light brown sugar and the cornstarch.
  2. Stir over a medium heat until thick.After it has thicken add the fruit and bring to boil, remove from heat and pour into a square baking dish (9x9 or 8x8).
  3. Spread 2 tbs of the margarine over the top of the fruit. Mix the biscuit mix with the cream and the remaing margarine. It should be moist but still a bit stiff.
  4. Spoon the mix over the top of the fruit. Bake for 20 minutes at 400 degrees or until the biscuits are golden brown.

Maybe a little too sweet for me but I'm sure I'll be the favourite cook to all my nieces and nephews.
I think I'll experiment for a version just for me. This is so yummy!
