How to make it

  • Cook rice in milk and water until soft but not mushy then drain and cool.
  • Fry onion in drippings or fat until tender but not brown.
  • Combine all ingredients then bake in a greased casserole in a moderate oven for 1 hour.
  • Serve with melted butter.
