Ingredients
  • 1/2 pint rice (uncooked)
  • 1/2 pint milk
  • 1/2 pint water
  • 1/2 small onion chopped
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 4 tablespoons syrup
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 marjoram
  • 1/2 pint raisins
  • 1/2 cup ground calves’ liver
  • 2 tablespoons fat or drippings
  • Melted butter

Directions
  1. Cook rice in milk and water until soft but not mushy then drain and cool.
  2. Fry onion in drippings or fat until tender but not brown.
  3. Combine all ingredients then bake in a greased casserole in a moderate oven for 1 hour.
  4. Serve with melted butter.
