really easy shortbread

My mother made this for years. This is an easy shortbread cookie recipe I make at Christmas time...melts in your mouth
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups of very soft butter shopping list
- 2 3/4 cups flour shopping list
- 3/4 cup of icing sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Sift the icing sugar
- Cream the icing sugar and butter together until smooth
- Gradually add the flour...a little at a time......mixing thoroughly after each addition
- pat the mixture into a 13 x 9 pan and prick the mixture several times with a fork
- bake in a 350 degree oven for 20 minutes or until the edges are slightly brown.
- let cool and cut into small squares
