Ingredients
  • 1 can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can water
  • 1 can eggs
  • 1 tbs lemon juice or vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • the zest of one lemon
  • 1 cup white sugar

Directions
  1. the first thing to do is to caramelize the sugar. Get out a heavy skillet and melt the sugar in the pan over medium heat, watching the sugar until it turns golden brown. This is so hot, if you touch this go to the hospital--cause you are going to get a nasty old burn! Get a heavy ceramic dish or flan pan and pour the melted sugar into this with pot holders on your hands and swirl this around quickly so as to cover the entire bottom of the dish. Preheat the oven to 325
  2. In a mixing bowl beat the remaining items until smooth over medium speed. I pour all of this through a fine strainer and then put this into the sugar and put this in the preheated 325 oven and bake for about 45 minutes. LEt this cool overnight at best, several hours at least. :Unmold to serve. I garnish to fresh mango slices and strawberrys.

Sounds interesting and but delicious!

This was made by me when I lost the recipe from the back of the can of milk. I did it this way and it was perfect. The flavor is so good. This is a family favorite. This goes perfectly with the hottest of Mexican dishes.
