King Of The Jungle Spiced Pears With Honey Cream Recipe Chefmeow / All my dishes

KING OF THE JUNGLE SPICED PEARS WITH HONEY CREAM This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Patrick Estate in Canton, Texas in 1981.

Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 cups half and half
  • 3 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 pounds ripe pears halved deseeded and cut into 3/4" thick wedges
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Directions
  1. Whisk half and half, buttermilk and honey together in glass bowl.
  2. Let stand uncovered in warm place at least 6 hours but preferably overnight.
  3. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
  4. Heat large skillet over medium high heat.
  5. Add pears and sugar then stir until sugar dissolves about 8 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle cinnamon over pears then spoon into bowl and pour honey cream over top.
