Sausage And Red Cabbage Recipe
SAUSAGE AND RED CABBAGE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Wilkin Estate in Richardson, Texas in 1992.

Ingredients
  • 6 ounces chicken apple sausage cut into 1/2” pieces
  • 2 cups chopped granny smith apples
  • 1 cup chopped red onions
  • 10 ounce package sliced red cabbage
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 cup dry red wine
  • 1-1/2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Directions
  1. Heat large skillet over medium high heat then sauté 4 minutes and remove from pan.
  2. Add apple, onion and cabbage then cook 5 minutes stirring frequently.
  3. Add sausage, cider, wine, sugar and salt.
  4. Bring to a boil and reduce heat then simmer 10 minutes.
