How to make it

  • Combine tomatoes, red onion, basil, olive oil and vinegar.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Let rest at room temperature for 30-40 minutes.
  • Turn on broiler and slice baguette diagonally into 1/2 in. pieces.
  • Broil until tops are lightly toasted.
  • Take the bread out of the broiler and brush each top with a bit of olive oil.
  • Rub each piece with garlic.
  • Top baguette slices with tomato mixture and serve.
