How to make it

  • Peel turnips and chop coarsely.
  • Cover with water and bring to a boil - lid on.
  • Add salt to taste.
  • Boil until tender - about 15 minutes.
  • Drain off water and add margarine cut into 6 pieces.
  • Put lid back on pot and let sit while margarine melts down in turnips.
  • Mix well and add pepper to taste.
  • That's it!
