Egg Nog

- 2 cups milk shopping list
- 1 vanilla bean shopping list
- 6 egg yolks shopping list
- 1/4 cup sugar shopping list
- 2 tbsn bouron or whiskey or butterscotch snapps shopping list
- 300 ml cream shopping list
- freshly grated nutmeg to serve shopping list
How to make it
- Place the milk and vanilla bean in a saucepan over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
- Remove from the heat and remove the vanilla bean.
- Place the egg yolks and sugar in a bowl and whisk until thick and pale. Slowly pour in the hot milk, whisking continuously.
- Pour the mixture back into the saucepan and stir over low heat for 6-8 minutes or until the mixture thickens slightly.
- Remove from the heat, stir through the bourbon and refrigerate until chilled.
- Beat the cream in the bowl of an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
- Gently fold the cream through the egg mixture and serve in glasses sprinkled with nutmeg.
