How to make it

  • Soften gelatin in cold water in a saucepot.
  • Then stir constantly over low heat to dissolve gelatin.
  • Remove from heat.
  • Add sugar, salt and lemon juice and stir well.
  • Stir in cherry pie filling.
  • Chill in refrigerator until mixture begins to thicken slightly.
  • Whip cream with liquor, flavoring and sugar.
  • Fold into cherry mixture.
  • Pour into a 2 quart decorative mold of choice.
  • Chill until completely firm before unmolding.
  • Serves 10 to 12.
  • Serve plain or add some fruit topping or sauce of choice.
