Chocolate Shortcake

- 1 1/2 cups unsifted self-rising flour shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder shopping list
- 2/3 cup unsalted butter, cold shopping list
- 2/3 cup semi sweet morsels, coarsely chopped shopping list
- 2/3 cup milk shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- Grease 8 inch round cake pan.
- In large bowl mix first 3 ingredients; mix well.
- With pastry blender mix butter just until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
- Add semi sweet chocolate morsels and the milk.
- With a fork stir gently just until dry ingredients are moistened.
- Spread batter into prepared pan, smoothing top evenly.
- Bake 25 minutes or until sides of cake pull away from pan.
- Cool cake in pan on wire rack 10 minutes.
- With a knife loosen edges and invert cake on to pan.
- This cake can be cut in half with a serrated knife and filled with whipped cream and fruit of any kind.

Just took these out of the oven and had to sneak a taste....OMG, I can't wait to have dessert tonight...:)
