How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  • Grease 8 inch round cake pan.
  • In large bowl mix first 3 ingredients; mix well.
  • With pastry blender mix butter just until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
  • Add semi sweet chocolate morsels and the milk.
  • With a fork stir gently just until dry ingredients are moistened.
  • Spread batter into prepared pan, smoothing top evenly.
  • Bake 25 minutes or until sides of cake pull away from pan.
  • Cool cake in pan on wire rack 10 minutes.
  • With a knife loosen edges and invert cake on to pan.
  • This cake can be cut in half with a serrated knife and filled with whipped cream and fruit of any kind.
