Banana Chocolate Loaf

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter shopping list
- 1 2/3 cups sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs, lightly beaten shopping list
- 1/8 teaspoon salt1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder shopping list
- 4 tablespoons sour cream or unflavored yogurt shopping list
- 1 cup ripe banana mashed (2 large) shopping list
- 2 cups all purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups chocolate bits shopping list
- 3/4 cup walnuts, chopped shopping list
How to make it
- Flour and butter one 9X5X3 inch loaf pan or use aluminum foil
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Cream butter and sugar together
- Add half of the beaten egg, mix well, add remaining egg and salt
- Stir in vanilla
- In a seperate bowl, stir baking powder and baking soda into sour cream or yogurt. Add to butter mixture.
- Stir in mashed banana and flour alternating each ingredient
- Mix well but do not overmix
- Fold in chocolate bits and walnuts
- Pour into prepared pan and bake for approximately 90 minutes
- Cool in pan 20 minutes, remove and place on a wire rack
