How to make it

  • Wash and slice tomatoes
  • let drain salt& pepper them, in 2 seperate bowls combine flour and meal
  • in another bowl mix eggs and milk
  • dip tomatoes in 1st bowl of meal and flour
  • then dip into egg,milk wash then back into the 2 bowl of mealand flour place in hot oil and fry till golden brown , drain on paper towels
  • these are good with ketchup, pinto beans and cornbread or mexican cornbread.

    I absolutely adore fried green tomatoes! I always start a few tomato plants later than the rest so I make sure to have green tomatoes at the end of the season.
