This is the sauce that was served with our chimichanga recipe.

Ingredients
  • 15 ounce can stewed tomatoes
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 cup canned beef broth

Directions
  1. In food processor or blender, puree tomatoes briefly.
  2. In saucepan combine pureed tomatoes with bay leaf, cinnamon, oregano, and beef broth.
  3. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
  4. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 5 minutes.
