How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350.
  • Lightly grease six custard cups or ramekins.
  • Divide bread among the 6 cups and sprinkle with raisins.
  • Beat eggs slightly with a whisk or fork.
  • Add sugar, cinnamon, milk and vanilla extract and stir until blended.
  • Ladle over bread in cups then place filled cups in baking pan.
  • Add hot water to pan to come 1/2" up sides of cups.
  • Bake 40 minutes until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Remove custards from water bath and place on rack to cool.
  • Serve warm or chilled.
