How to make it

  • Boil the first ingredients together for about 10 to 12 minutes until tender
  • While the above is cooking, prepare white sauce:
  • In a sauce pan, melt butter then add the flour.slowly as you would in making gravy and stir until smooth
  • Slowly add milk and stir as it cooks to keep the smooth consistancy
  • Add the cheese and continue to stir on low to medium heat until cheese is melted.
  • Add the bacon or ham and the ingredients listed first and cooked earlier.
  • Cook until mixed and heated through. (Stir often)
  • Serve hot and with good old fashioned corn bread.
