Black-Bottom Banana Bars

- 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups mashed ripe bananas (about 3 ) shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/4 cup baking cocoa shopping list
How to make it
- 1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
- 2. Add egg and vanilla; beat until thoroughly combined.
- 3. Blend in the bananas.
- 4. Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
- 5. Divide batter in half.
- 6. Add cocoa to half; spread into a greased 13-in x9-in pan.
- 7. Spoon remaining batter on top and swirl with a knife.
- 8. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes or until the bars test done.
- 9. Cool
