Ingredients
  • 2 cups self rising flour
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground hot red pepper
  • 3 tablespoons unslated butter
  • 2/3 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 egg

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Combine flour, mustard, salt and pepper in large bowl.
  3. Cut in or rub in butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
  4. Add cheese.
  5. Gently stir in egg and milk in small bowl.
  6. Stir into flour mixture just until mixture comes together.
  7. Turn dough out onton lightly floured surface.
  8. Gently knead 10 to 12 times.
  9. Pat into 8 inch disk.
  10. Cut dough into 8 wedges; separating slightly.
  11. Bake 400 degrees for 17 to 20 minutes.
  12. Transfer to wire to cool.
