Caraway Seed Cake

- 8oz/225g self raising flour sifted with 1 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 6oz/150g butter at room temperature shopping list
- 5oz/125g sugar shopping list
- 2 eggs, beaten shopping list
- 1 tablespoon cold water shopping list
- 2 tablespoons caraway seeds shopping list
How to make it
- Cream the butter and sugar together until light and pale in colour
- Add the beaten eggs a little at a time
- Stir in the sifted flour and baking powder
- Add the cold water
- Add the caraway seeds and give a final stir
- Bake in a moderate oven for one and a half hours
- Gas mark 6
- Electric 325f / 160-170c
