Coleslaw was probably consumed, in the times of the ancient Romans . "Cole" originates from the Latin, colis, meaning "cabbage . During 18th century , mayonnaise was invented and thus the U.S. coleslaw contains mayonnaise

Ingredients
  • 8 tbsp shredded cabbage
  • 2 tbsp shredded carrot
  • 2 tsp mayo
  • Few drops of vinegar
  • Pinch of salt and sugar
  • Garnish :
  • 4 Pineapple chunks ( or apple cubes )
  • 2 curled Parsley sprigs

Directions
  1. Mix everything well .
  2. Garnish .
  3. Chill .
  4. Serve cold , as a side dish .

Sounds good. I never thought to use pineapple as a garnish. I have added tomatoes to the slaw.
