Ingredients
  • 400gr dark chocolate
  • 300 gr unsalted butter
  • 4 eggs
  • 400 gr soft brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 55 gr plain flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • a pinch of salt
  • 285gr pecan nuts

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 160°C/325°F. Butter and flour a 20cm×29cm×5cm baking tin.
  2. Melt the chocolate and the butter together. Lightly whisk the eggs, sugar and vanilla essence and stir into the chocolate mixture. Fold in the flour, baking powder and salt.
  3. Fold in the pecans.
  4. Pour into prepared tin and bake for 1 hour or until skewer comes out clean.
  5. Allow to cool and cut into squares.
