Jack Daniels Candied Apples Recipe
Apples and Jack Daniels really are oh so good! And it's a great dessert for surprising guests! I sometimes tinker with this recipe when I make it, adding cinnamon and a bit of mace and nutmeg.

Ingredients
  • 6 cups peeled and sliced apples
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 2 to 3 cups sugar
  • Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, to taste

Directions
  1. Combine apples, butter and sugar in a large saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat until apples are tender.
  3. Stir in Jack Daniels.
  4. Cook an additional 5 minutes.
  5. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

I do a similar dish using dark brown sugar. After everything is tender I add the JD and let it "steep" covered for an hour. Flambee tableside for real drama and to burn off the alcohol (or not).
