Ingredients

6 cups peeled and sliced apples

1/4 cup butter

2 to 3 cups sugar

Jack Daniels Tennessee Whiskey, to taste

Directions

Combine apples, butter and sugar in a large saucepan.

Cook over medium heat until apples are tender.

Stir in Jack Daniels.

Cook an additional 5 minutes.

Makes 6 to 8 servings.

I do a similar dish using dark brown sugar. After everything is tender I add the JD and let it "steep" covered for an hour. Flambee tableside for real drama and to burn off the alcohol (or not).
