Cottage Cream Cheese Balls IN CREAMY MILK

- For the BALLS : shopping list
- 500 ml milk shopping list
- 1/4 tbsp lime juice or citric acid shopping list
- 200 ml water shopping list
- 200 g sugar shopping list
- Some flour , optional shopping list
- Pinch of baking powder shopping list
- For the milk : shopping list
- 250 ml whole milk shopping list
- 1/4 C sugar shopping list
- Pinch of green cardamom powder shopping list
- Handful of Skinless Blanched pistachios , slivered shopping list
- saffron strands shopping list
How to make it
- Cheese Balls :
- Boil the milk .
- Add the lime juice / citric acid drop by drop till the milk curdles completely and the liquid separates from the cheese.
- Wash the cheese in water few times until the acid smell gone .
- Strain the cheese .
- Hang it in a muslincloth for about an hour until all the water drip away
- Blend the cheese in a food processor or knead wit your hands until smooth .
- Add the baking powder and flour to make sure it's not too sticky ( otherwise just omit it )
- Divide into 6 balls and flatten it abit like patties .
- Meanwhile , add the sugar to the boling water
- Once the sugar dissolves , simmer .
- Add the patties to the milk
- Simmer on low heat for 20 mins or so , till the patties becomes double in size
- Add the cardamom and saffron to the water.
- Drain and set aside .
- CREAMY MILK :
- Simmer the milk until it becomes half the quantitty .
- Add the cardamom powder and the sugar .
- Cool and chill .
- Pour it over the cheese balls and chill for another few mins .
- Sprinkle with the saffron strands and the pistachios.
- Serve Chilled .
