How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 325 deg.
  • Trim steaks of excess fat.
  • preheat fat or oil over med-high heat in 10 in. skillet.
  • Put flour on a paper plate, or something to dredge steaks in.
  • Season both sides of the steaks with the salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder. (Push in gently to "rub")
  • Dredge meat on both sides in flour, and shake off excess.
  • Tenderize meat, using a fork, stabbing through every 1/8-1/4".
  • Dredge in flour again , shaking off excess.
  • Place in preheated skillet.
  • Cook until brown on both sides (2 Min.)*
  • * You can set steaks in the heated pan to rest if there's not enough room in skillet to brown all at once.
  • Remove all steaks to the pan .
  • Add the beef broth and thyme to skillet, whisk until boil.
  • Pour Liquid mix over steaks places in pan.
  • Make sure all steaks are submerged in the liquid.
  • Cover pan with foil, place middle rack in oven.
  • Cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until the meat is tender and falling apart.
