Country Style Steak

- 2 Lbs. beef round steak, top or bottom (about four steaks) shopping list
- 2 Tsp. salt shopping list
- 1 Tsp. black pepper shopping list
- 1/2 Tsp. onion powder shopping list
- 1/2 Tsp. garlic powder shopping list
- 3/4 C. all-purpose flour shopping list
- 1/4 C. bacon fat (or Veg. oil) shopping list
- 3 C. beef broth/bullion shopping list
- 1 Tsp. dried thyme shopping list
- 10 Inch Skillet shopping list
- 9X13" baking pan shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 325 deg.
- Trim steaks of excess fat.
- preheat fat or oil over med-high heat in 10 in. skillet.
- Put flour on a paper plate, or something to dredge steaks in.
- Season both sides of the steaks with the salt, pepper, onion and garlic powder. (Push in gently to "rub")
- Dredge meat on both sides in flour, and shake off excess.
- Tenderize meat, using a fork, stabbing through every 1/8-1/4".
- Dredge in flour again , shaking off excess.
- Place in preheated skillet.
- Cook until brown on both sides (2 Min.)*
- * You can set steaks in the heated pan to rest if there's not enough room in skillet to brown all at once.
- Remove all steaks to the pan .
- Add the beef broth and thyme to skillet, whisk until boil.
- Pour Liquid mix over steaks places in pan.
- Make sure all steaks are submerged in the liquid.
- Cover pan with foil, place middle rack in oven.
- Cook for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or until the meat is tender and falling apart.
