all-purpose green salve
From smartcakes 15 years agoIngredients
- 3/4 cup fresh plantain (see photo if you don't know what it looks like) shopping list
- 1/2 cup fresh sage shopping list
- 1 cup sunflower or almond oil shopping list
- 3 tablespoons grated beeswax shopping list
How to make it
- Chop the herbs (doesn't need to be too fine) and put in a double boiler (or I use one of those small crock pots) with the oil.
- Heat on low for two hours.
- Cool, then strain through several layers of cheesecloth until you've removed most of the plant bits.
- Put it back in double boiler or crock pot, and add the beeswax.
- Melt together.
- Cool again.
- Before it becomes solid, pour into a clean jar.
- Keep in refrigerator to avoid mold.
- Great for bug bites, bee stings, blisters, scrapes, burns!
