How to make it

  • Separate the eggs.
  • Beat the yolks with 2 cups of the sugar.
  • Stir in the milk and cream.
  • Slowly stir in the bourbon.
  • Set aside for three or four hours to allow the eggs to 'cook' in the bourbon.
  • Just before serving, beat whites with the remaining cup of sugar and fold it into the nog.
  • Sprinkle with nutmeg.
  • Keep iced.
