How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 375°F.
  • In an 8x8-inch square or other 2-qt baking dish melt butter.
  • In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and add sugar until mixed well.
  • Add milk and whisk batter until just combined.
  • Pour batter onto melted butter; do not stir.
  • Pour blueberries into center of batter; do not stir.
  • Bake 40 minutes, or until cake portion is golden and berries exude juices.
  • Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.

    GIRRRL! this is AWESOME, and, oh so, EASY! it actually took me fewer than five minutes to prep and pop it into my preheated oven. i used fresh bluebetties and, of course, real butter . . . are y'all drooling yet? this one gets not just a 'high 5' but a 'STERLING FIVE FORKS' from me!
    do you remember the oldie, goldie peach cobbler that calls for several 'ones' ~ one can of peaches, one cup sugar, one stick butter, etc. SOOO, easy, too ~ it was my highschool sweetheart's mom's recipe and so easy that i didn't think i needed to write it down ~ DUH! can u help me w/ that one? blessings, <3 deb
