Ingredients
  • 6 tbsp. unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg, freshly grated
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 cups blueberries

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F.
  2. In an 8x8-inch square or other 2-qt baking dish melt butter.
  3. In a bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg, and add sugar until mixed well.
  4. Add milk and whisk batter until just combined.
  5. Pour batter onto melted butter; do not stir.
  6. Pour blueberries into center of batter; do not stir.
  7. Bake 40 minutes, or until cake portion is golden and berries exude juices.
  8. Serve warm or at room temperature with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
