Ingredients

How to make it

  • Pour into a generously greased and dusted loaf pan - any smallish pan will work.
  • Bake at 350 for about 50 min - a toothpick inserted in center should come out clean.
  • Wait 10 minutes before removing from pan and placing on a rack to cool.
  • Enjoy :-)
  • * For sugar-free or a lower-sugar banana bread, replace the sugar with 1/3c of unsweetened fruit juice concentrate (apple, orange, white grape), agave syrup, maple syrup or honey.

    Excellent!
Used honey instead of sugar, 1.5% fat sourmilk (like ruuny yogurt), subbed 1/2 rolled oats out of total whole wheat flour. Skipped the dates. Baked 2 nice loaves (40 mins at 175 C) one to freeze, one to eat... will be gone by tonight!
Very moist, very fragrant, full of flavor! Thanks for posting.

This tasted amazing. I made this banana bread twice already, even though I had trouble cutting the banana bread, it tasted very delicious. I made it today using a muffin pan, it came out great and it was easy to cut the muffins in this size. From now on this is my top choice healthy banana bread / banana muffin recipe.

Absolutely amazing! I used 1/2 white / wheat flour. I used apple juice concentrate for the sweetness. I also mixed in chopped dates and apricots to add flavor. It was moist and delicious - its amazing that no oil or butter is needed. We made this for an evening w/ friends and it was eaten up!

It's hard to believe there's no oil or butter in this recipe. I make it with raw honey and without GMOs! Awesome!

Yummy. Made a few substitutions for my picky eaters...used 1/2 whole wheat 1/2 white flour, and added pecans and dried cherries. Also used non-sweetened almond milk instead of reg milk. Yummy! Thanks:)

Thanks for this. This was SOOOO good!!! I was wanting a healthier way to use our old bananas. Didn't think it could be so good but it was!

Used the 1/3 C honey and the walnuts and half wheat, half brown rice flour. Just the right amount of sweetness. Loved the lemon peel in it too. Can't wait to try it sweetened with the fruit juice.

Thanks for the great recipe! I made mine with whole wheat flour, 3 egg whites instead of the 2 eggs. Used some splenda and honey in place of the brown sugar and added a tbsp of Amaretto (didn't have any rum or vanilla in the house) and some crushed almonds. Came out great, especially for a healthy banana bread! Will certainly be making again, thanks!

Thanks so much for this recipe. My teenage boys made this themselves (and they don't cook much) and it turned out perfectly. They even cut back on the salt and sugar a bit (1/4 tsp & 1/3 cup respectively) and it was just excellent. We will definitely be making this again in the future.

I made this today, what a wonderful treat!! I used stone-ground whole wheat flour as it has a finer texture for breads, I substituted the sugar with Redpaths HALF sugar substitute, and I had 1 lonely banana left over so I threw it in too, very nice recipe. Thank you for posting.

Delicious! My friend who was on a diet couldn't believe there wasn't any butter or oil in it! The banana bread is very moist and only mildly sweet. I used frozen bananas (defrosted of course), wholemeal flour, lactose free milk, chopped macadamia nuts and dates. It was a huge hit with DH too. Thanks for the great recipe!
