Ham And Oyster Po Boy Recipe
This is a good appetizer for winter parties or just when ever you want to serve them. They are really very good and different.

Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 large egg whits, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 12 shucked oysters, drained
  • 1-1/2 tsp. oil
  • 2 cups shredded iceberg lettuce
  • 3 Tbsp. tartar sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 6 oz. thinly sliced smoked ham
  • 8 (1/2" thick) tomato slices
  • 4 (2-1/2 oz.) hoagie rolls with sesame seeds, split and lightly toasted
  • 4 lemon wedges

Directions
  1. Place flour in shallow dish.
  2. Combine egg whites and water in a small bowl.
  3. Place bread crumbs in another shallow dish.
  4. Dredge oysters in flour.
  5. Dip oysters in egg white mixture and dredge in bread crumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  7. Add breaded oysters to skillet.
  8. Saute 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  9. Remove from heat.
  10. Combine lettuce, tartar sauce and juice in a medium bowl.
  11. Arrange 1-1/2 oz. ham and 2 tomato slices over bottom half of each roll.
  12. Top each with 3 oysters,1/2 cup lettuce mixture and top halves of rolls.
  13. Garnish with lemon wedges.
  14. Serve immediately.
