Caramel Corn

- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 2 cups brown sugar shopping list
- ½ cup light corn syrup shopping list
- 1 t. salt or to taste shopping list
- ½ tsp. baking soda. shopping list
- 5 quarts of popped popcorn shopping list
- (if you are making it with a kid, pop it on the stove, they will love it! Or just buy plain ole' popcorn to pour mixture over.) shopping list
How to make it
- Cook the butter, brown sugar, light corn syrup and salt to 255 degrees or to soft ball stage.
- Remove from heat
- Stir in baking soda.
- Syrup will foam.
- Pour over 5 quarts popped corn and stir well.
- Spread on waxed paper until cool.
- Or
- Bake at approximately 250 for 20 minutes or so…stirring occasionally.
