Creamed Cabbage

- 1 head green cabbage shopping list
- 1 small onion shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tbsp sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c butter shopping list
- 1/2 c flour shopping list
- black pepper shopping list
- 1 can evaporated milk shopping list
How to make it
- Cut cabbage in 1/4 inch slices. Put in saucepan. Slice and add the onion. Sprinkle in salt and a little sugar. Add enough water to cover and bring to a boil. Turn off heat and let stand on the burner (cabbage will continue to cook in the hot liquid). Melt the butter in a saucepan and combine with the flour and a small amount of the liquid from the cabbage. Spoon the cabbage into the mixture; add pepper, salt, and sugar to taste. Stir in evaported milk and serve.
