How to make it

  • Combine mangoes,sugar,salt ,nigella and little water in a large saucepan.
  • Bring to a boil over high heat.
  • Reduce heat,and boil gently,uncovered, for 20 minutes (stirring occasionally) or until fruit is tender.
  • The chutney is done when it has thickened but is still slightly liquid(it thickens further as it cools).
  • Add crushed chillies; boil gently for further 5 minutes.
  • Add vinegar and remove from heat.
  • Cool the chutney slightly, then store in jars.

    As salaam mu alaikum Ambus, thanks for sharing a wonderful recipe...unusual to see u using kalonji, it is a wonderful seed for all ailments as well,my daughter did a research on it using it in combo with honey and mint for her final year pharmacy assignment,she got a distinction ...:}
    Inshallah next year she will be doing her Masters in it.....she has to first complete her intern
