Ingredients
  • * 1/2 kg pumpkin cut into cubes (1inch)
  • * 2 tbsp grated coconut
  • * 4 to 5 red chillis
  • * 1 pinch l.g. powder
  • * salt to taste
  • * a few curry leaves
  • * 1 tsp mustard seeds
  • * 1 tbsp coconut oil

Directions
  1. 1. Heat oil.
  2. 2. Add mustard seeds, and curry leaves. When they splutter add l.g. powder and add pumpkin pieces.
  3. 3. fry for some time.
  4. 4. Add salt and very little water to cook.
  5. 5. Meanwhile grind coconut and chillis to a paste and add to the pumpkin pieces.
  6. 6. Mix well till pumpkin pieces are cooked well.
  7. 7. Serve hot with chappatis.
  8. you can adjust the number of chillis to suit your taste.

I have not had this,dish...Pumpkin soup before... but nothing on this delicious scale.

I would be tempted to us tortilla flats for the chappatis...

~but~

Would like to try making them,perhaps with what is suggested...Half whole wheat and half white flour,placed over a oven flame when done.
