How to make it

  • Cover beans w/cold water
  • soak overnight
  • drain
  • place beans in 3/4 quart saucepan
  • cover w/cold water
  • add salt
  • cook over medium heat 1 1/4 hours or until tender
  • or in a crock pot all day
  • remove from heat and drain
  • place drained limas in large mixing bowl
  • add sugar and butter
  • stir until well blended
  • put beans in 9 by 13 inch pan
  • bake at 325* for 45minutes to one hour, till crisp and golden.
