Homemade Butterscotch Sauce Recipe

Ingredients

1 cup sugar

1/2 cup water

1 1/2 cups heavy cream or manufacturing cream

3 Tb. regular salted butter (do not use margarine!)

Directions

Combine the sugar and water in a medium pan.

Cook over high heat until the mixture is a light golden brown in color. Remove from heat.

Add the cream and stir until smooth.

Add the butter 1 tablespoon at a time.

Blend well. Can be reheated.

Pour this over the ice cream of your choice!

1 scoop of Coffee ice cream with butterscotch topping

1 scoop chocolate ice cream with marshmallow topping

1 scoop of vanilla ice cream with hot fudge topping

Whipped cream and a sprinkling of chopped salted peanuts and a cherry on top!

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
