Ingredients

CAKE: 168g (6oz) margarine

168g (6oz) caster sugar

3 eggs

168g (6oz) SR flour

2 tsp baking powder

28g (1oz) cocoa

TOPPING: 42g (1.5oz) margarine

2tbsp water

14g (1/2oz) cocoa

168g (6oz) icing sugar (sieved)

licorice strings

Directions

Preheat oven to 170*c

To make the cakes:

Place all 6 cake ingredients in a large bowl and beat together for 2 mins.

Divide mixture between 24 paper cases.

Bake for 15-20mins in preheated oven

Decorate when cold.

To make topping:

In a saucepan over low heat, melt marg, cocoa and water.

Remove from heat. Beat in sieved icing sugar.

Ice the cakes with topping and add spider decoration!

(Save a few drops of topping to put eyes in the middle of the smarties!)
