Flour Tortillas

- 4 cups flour shopping list
- 1 ½ tsp. salt shopping list
- 4 Tbsp. (heaping) lard or vegetable shortening - lard's traditional shopping list
- 1¼ to 1 ½ cups warm water shopping list
- 1 ½ tsp. baking powder shopping list
How to make it
- Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Cut in lard; add enough water, kneading dough until soft and smooth in texture. Form into balls about 3” in diameter.
- Roll out into round flat shaped circles about 1/8” thick and cook on griddle on medium heat, flipping tortilla until both sides are spotted medium brown.

This is my first attempt at making tortillas. A rolling pin is not a natural tool for me, lol. They turned out great otherwise though! I had to use shortening since that's all I had, but will try lard next time. Thanks!!
