Corned Beef And Cabbage

- 1 tablespoon pickling spice ; (optional), in tea ball shopping list
- 5 cups water shopping list
- 4 pounds corned beef brisket ; cut into 1" cubes shopping list
- 1 Cabage, Head ; cut into wedges shopping list
- 1 medium onion ; diced shopping list
How to make it
- Pour enough cold water over corned beef in a large soup pot just to cover.
- Add pickling spice (if using) and then heat to boiling; reduce heat.
- Cover and simmer until beef is tender, about 2 hours. Add cabbage. Heat to boiling; reduce heat. Simmer uncovered 15 minutes.

I make this during the winter months and it is my husbands favorite. I add a can or bottle of beer to the water - it just makes it a little better! A 5 from me!
